Kyran Garton is a 19 year old producer, born on 3rd October 1994, who lives in Durban, South Africa. At the age of 16 Kyran began experimenting with music and it soon became one of his greatest passions. Although he started with producing dubstep, he couldn’t stick to one genre and ended up producing a wide variety of music from hip hop and trap inspired tracks to house and drum and bass. Kyran’s passion for music continued to grow and on 19 December 2012 he was signed to Gods DJs Records, one of the world’s largest Christian EDM labels. He released his first single, on all major online stores, through Gods DJs Records on 23 August 2013.

 

Kyran grew up in a Christian home and has always been Christian for as long as he can remember although the idea of what it means to be truly Christian only became clearer to him as he grew older. As he went through high school, he slowly moved away from thinking of Christianity as a bunch of do’s and don’ts and realised what was more important was a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Kyran’s faith was greatly influenced by Christian rappers such as Lecrae and Andy Mineo and he was even more inspired after meeting Lacey Sturm (former lead singer of Flyleaf) in 2013 and getting to hear her powerful testimony.

 

Kyran admits he is still a growing Christian who faces struggles every day. He finds it difficult to portray his feeling through a beat with no words but nonetheless he wants his music to inspire and make a difference in peoples’ lives just as music played a huge role in inspiring him and defining his own life. Continually trying to balance his studies and music is a challenge for Kyran but he promises to never give up music and always release his very best.
